Mother’s rushing children
don’t stare they say
for fear he will speak
and they might have to see
Office workers lunching
groups of girls
brunching
no time to stop
no change to spare
Stallholders holler
and the police come running
move along mister
your in the way
these good people here
don’t need to see you
cup in hand,
begging all day
The invisible man
he smells you see
he has no where to bathe
his clothes are dirty
they don’t fit his shape
he found them you see
in a bin, in a lane
where was it again
curled up in a doorway
silently the man cries
he cries for himself
he cries for you
Cup in hand
begging all day
how cruel life can be
when people don’t see.
It’s raining hard now
and folk scurry for shelter
Umbrellas shoot up
he would head to the shopping centre
where it’s warm and dry,
but he’s not welcome there
he’s not the right kinda guy
he would head for one of the many cafe’s
but they don’t want him there
he has no change to spare
so he curls up tighter in his open doorway
and wonders about life
and how a man should live
should it be like this
to the end
a man alone
without a friend
(inspired by a man in a doorway in Glasgow City Centre on a right shitty day, George is his name, he is smart and he is funny, he deserves more, if you see a guy in a doorway it won’t kill you to say hello)
Dear old Cuthbert Simpson frozen in time .
It’s precious
and fleeting
far too often
self defeating
patience is wasted
impulse regretted
and far too often
nothing netted
grief and desire
both thoughtless
yet painfully
necessary
hopes and dreams
neither shattered
nor achieved
existing not living
or is existing really
living after all….
breathing, feeling
yet somehow never
seeing nor tasting
nor relishing
just some
shameful embellishing
time…..
what’s it really for?
a tool to torture souls
a toy
for twisted spirits
time….
what does it really mean
or does it matter in the
end.
Not too long ago I decided to take part in the Race For Life Pretty Muddy 5K in Glasgow, considering how out of shape I have become due to my love of all things food it really was quite the challenge, in fact I was shattered doing the warm up but all in all it was great fun, an amazing bunch of ladies and my girls there to cheer me on it was over in no time – can’t wait for next year (I plan to be better prepared) … also raised a grand total of £240 for Cancer Research
Skip head a couple of weeks and we are back at The Hydro in Glasgow for Elton John, I have loved his music for many years now, i wonder if we will have the privilege again….I was fairly sue=re he hinted at taking it a little easier to spend time with…

We managed to bag some really nice weather earlier in the month which is always a blessing during the summer holidays, so we have had plenty of fun exploring Glasgow’s parks
Last week has to top it all off though, did I mention I am a huge music fan? well we managed to see both Neil Diamond and Fleetwood Mac in the one week and despite the fact that Stevie Nicks is a grade A crackpot!! it was more than I could have imagined it could be the only one to give them a run for their money would be Prince!!!
It’s been an amazing month and I doubt there are many more that could top it in the entertainment category but I very much look forward to trying.

Love is not harsh, nor mean spirited… love don’t hurt people there’ enough crazymakers and brainfuckers out there to meet the demand don’t become one to prove a point |
Great blog post here , everyone should read this and take heart from it bot Parents and Non-Parents
To the fan I lost yesterday:
I don’t owe you an explanation, but I thought I’d offer one anyway. I do this more for your sake than mine. You see, maybe, as you later suggested, I was in a bad mood. Maybe I could have been a bit more polite about it. Maybe I’m more sensitive to it now that I have kids. Maybe I’m just sick of hearing these comments about parents. Maybe I know that my wife has to take the twins with her when she goes grocery shopping sometimes, so she could easily be on the receiving end of your sort of bullying. Maybe I took it personally.
Whatever the case, there I was, walking down the aisles of the grocery store looking for the ingredients for a new chili recipe I wanted to try. I heard the kid screaming from a distance; the whole store heard…
